Business-minded students from Monmouth will be competing this week in the UK Young Enterprise National Final in London.

MySlides, formed by A level students at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools, scooped three awards at the Welsh final last month.

The students from Monmouth School for Boys and Monmouth School for Girls will represent Wales at the UK Young Enterprise National Final in County Hall, London, on Friday.

Headed by Adam Taylor, MySlides won the Welsh Young Enterprise Company of the Year, Best Company Report, and took the Digital Award for the most effective use of information technology.

Previously, MySlides scooped four awards in the regional final, winning the overall title of Best Company in the Newport & Monmouthshire area.

The company also won Best Product or Service, Best Presentation, and Best Trade Stand at the regional event.

The students have been printing eye-catching personalised logos, patterns and pictures on to slider shoes.

According to teachers Mr Nick Goodson and Miss Michele Attrill, the mixed teams have brought a new dynamic to the tasks.

The pupils have also received tremendous support from business advisor, Dr Delyth Harris.
