Yellow warning for wind issued

We are being warned of very strong winds in our area from tonight.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert from 10pm tonight through to 9am on Thursday morning.

Forecasters says gusts will be at their strongest after midnight, with speeds of up to 50mph before easing in the morning.

We could get some loss to power and other services, and we are warned of delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.

Today:
Skies could be on the cloudy side in some areas at first, but it will turn brighter through the morning. It will stay mostly dry with some bright spells this afternoon. Maximum temperature 10 °C.


Tonight:
Rain will spread in during the evening and winds will strengthen too. This will keep temperatures up to give a frost free night. Minimum temperature 3 °C.


Thursday:
After a cloudy start with rain for some, it will turn drier and brighter. In the afternoon there could be some blustery showers. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Turning very windy with rain on Friday. Strong winds will last into Saturday with scattered blustery showers. Less windy on Sunday and probably largely dry apart from the odd shower.
