West Midlands Safari Park to temporarily close

West Midland Safari Park will temporarily close from Wednesday at 4pm until Wednesday 2nd December.

The closure is part of the Government's national lockdown measures to control the ongoing spread of Coronavirus. This includes the Park's four-mile drive-through Safari, Leisure Park, and its Safari Venues.

In contrast, the Safari Academy will be open as normal and students will follow their own personal timetables as communicated by the Academy's Education Team.

Chris Kelly, Managing Director of West Midland Safari Park said, "We are saddened to be announcing the temporary closure of the Park for the second time this year, in light of what has already been a tough time for everyone during this global crisis.

"Since fully re-opening in July, it has been a delight to welcome guests back for a safe and enjoyable experience, ultimately bringing back some normality for people during these trying times. The health and wellbeing of our guests, staff and wildlife will always be our number one priority and will remain so throughout the coming weeks.

"We would like to thank our guests and the public for their continued support in what is a challenging and uncertain period. We look forward to welcoming them back once we are given the go-ahead."

This has been a difficult decision to again face and West Midland Safari Park fully appreciates the ongoing support from guests, staff and suppliers who are also dealing with the impact of this second lockdown.

The Park is hoping to welcome visitors and members back to site from Thursday 3rd December to make the best of the festive season, and in the meantime, they will continue to give the animals the best care to which they are accustomed to.

Guests with pre-booked tickets, starting with those during November, will be contacted in the coming days. The Park is asking guests to also check the website and social media for further details.
