Monmouthshire County Council is to consult the community over the management of Caldicot's country park.

The council is developing a long term green infrastructure management plan for all its countryside sites and will host two drop-in events in the main car park at Caldicot Castle.  These will take place on Friday 17th November from 3pm to 7pm and on Saturday 18th November from 10am to 12noon within the council's mobile exhibition unit.

Councillor Bryan Jones, cabinet member with responsibility for Monmouthshire's countryside service said: "Whether you use Caldicot Country Park for walking, jogging, running, exercising your dog, picnicking, painting, admiring its beautiful surroundings or any other reason we welcome your views.  Please attend our consultation events and make your voice heard."

This consultation is seen as an important stage in the process to encourage the community to help plan and shape the future of the country park.  The management plan aims "to safeguard Caldicot Country Park with its connected green spaces, while reflecting the special qualities of its heritage and natural environment so enhancing the quality of life and contributing to community identity and well-being."
