Man hit by van in Hereford

Roman Road in Hereford remains closed after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Roman Road, Hereford at 5.55pm yesterday following a collision involving a van and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, has been taken to hospital in a critical condition. No other injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.

Roman Road (A4103) is currently closed at the crossroads with Three Elms Road and Kempton Avenue and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Officers remain at the scene and are scouring a patch of grassland nearby.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident reference 503s of 9 January.
