Developers want to build five new homes in a village near Ross-on-Wye.

David Jordan has submitted plans to Herefordshire Council to build on land next to The Old Kins in Church Lane, Howle Hill.

The scheme includes a pair of two-bedroom and three-bedroom homes with a four-bedroom house on the 7.2-acre field.

Consultants working on the plans say the buildings will be of a similar design to those within the area and say the development is sustainable.

“Herefordshire Council acknowledge that they cannot demonstrate a five year supply of deliverable homes which means that the tilted balance is engaged,” the planning statement reads.

“There are no policies within the framework which would provide a clear reason for refusal, nor are there any adverse impacts which would demonstrably outweigh the benefits, in our view.”

People have until February 12 to comment on the proposals which planners are expected to consider by March 8.
