Developers want to build 14 homes in a village near Hereford.

Ware and seed potato merchants Scott and Newman want to build on the former Royal Air Force site next to The Lodge in Kingstone.

The military buildings were demolished following the end of World War Two and the 1.72 acre site has not been reused.

Planning documents say the sites previous use by the MOD in the form of buildings has contaminated and degraded the land to an extent that it is extremely poor quality for farming.

If approved, the new proposals would see a mixture of two to four bedroom homes with two bedroom bungalows built on the land.

Residents have until April 24 to comment on the proposals which are expected to be considered by June 26.
