Two care homes in Hereford will hold a Remembrance Ceremony next month.

Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford Nursing Homes in Hereford will hold a Remembrance ceremony on 3rd November to honour fallen military servicemen from across Britain and the Commonwealth.

Welcoming families, friends and members of the local community, attendees will gather in the care homes' grounds to observe a former Rotherwas Munitions worker, Nancy Billings, unveil a Statue of Remembrance at 12pm.

Louise Craddock, Home Manager of Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford, says: "The Remembrance period is an extremely moving time for our residents. In previous years we have hand-crafted a 'river' of poppies cascading out of the Hampton Grange building. This year, it will be a great honour to welcome Nancy to unveil a Statue of Remembrance in our grounds for our residents to pay their respects".

ROF Rotherwas in Herefordshire manufactured weapons and ammunition used by the British military during the First and Second World Wars. Women made up more than 77% the workforce and 99-year-old Nancy worked at Rotherwas for five years during the Second World War.
