The Monmouth Savoy Trust are celebrating after receiving £90,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund.

They successfully applied for £90,000 to refurbish toilets and make them more accessible. Jane Harvey, the Chair of Trustees said: "This grant will allow us to upgrade and increase the number of toilets in this lovely, listed building to give our audiences an even better experience when they visit."

"We are so grateful to the Big Lottery Fund for their help with this project which will be of real benefit to the people of Monmouth and surrounding areas. We have already had tremendous community support for the project in the form of donations, including the proceeds of a half marathon run by Louise Utleyouth".

Speaking on behalf of the Big Lottery Fund, Derek Preston-Hughes said: "We were pleased to support these improvements at the iconic Monmouth Savoy building in Monmouth."

"The Monmouth Savoy Trust consulted over 300 people and it became clear to the charity that people were not happy with the lack of disabled toilets and baby changing area. Thanks to players of the National Lottery the Big Lottery Fund is able to give a grant of £90,000 towards making the building even better for the community groups who use it."
