Local Farm Shop scoops up eight prestigious Great Taste Awards

Thirty-seven foods and drinks produced in the county of Herefordshire have been recognised in the recent prestigious national ‘Great Taste’ awards.

A total of nineteen local producers were recognised and family owned and run Oakchurch at Staunton-on-Wye scooped up eight of the thirty-seven awards received in the county for pies and cakes made by their own cooks and rack of local lamb from their Butchery.

The ‘Great Taste’ awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is an acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink. It’s been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize’. Quite simply the Great Taste logo is the sign you can trust when buying food and drink at a local, quality retailers.

“We’re absolutely delighted with the news for both ourselves and all of our suppliers who have achieved Great Taste Awards.” Said Nick Price, Oakchurch’s owner.

Oakchurch is at Staunton-on-Wye, 10 minutes from Hereford on the A438 Brecon Road.
