The housebuilder planning a 540-home estate south of Hereford says people have until the end of this week to comment on the scheme.

This can be done through Bloor Homes’ dedicated website for its planned Lower Bullingham development, on 42 hectares of farmland between the Welsh Marches railway line and the B4399.

A third of the homes will be affordable, “of a mix of type and tenure”, the website says, while the scheme also includes around five hectares of employment land, a retail and community hub and new public green space.

In August the company asked Herefordshire Council to determine if the project required an environmental impact assessment (EIA). The council responded that this would indeed be required.

Bloor says it has already engaged with the local community as well as the council ahead of the submission of an outline planning application “for what would be the first phase of development”.

The company submitted an even larger plan for up to 1,300 homes in the Lower Bullingham area in 2019, as part of the Southern Urban Expansion to the city set out in the county plan.

This drew over 50 public objections, and has yet to be decided on.
