Hereford man has been jailed after assaulting a security officer

A man has been jailed after assaulting a security officer in Hereford.

The assault happened on Saturday 28 March outside a supermarket in the city.

Levi Doherty, 26 years old from Bath Street, Hereford, was sentenced  after he was found guilty after a trial at Kidderminster Magistrates Court. He  was sentenced to 24 weeks.

DS Frank Real, from Hereford station, said: "I am pleased we have been able to deal with this individual, in such timely manner. We do not tolerate this kind of behaviour.

“I would like to remind the public that the COVID-19 regulations are there in order to prevent the spread of the disease and help protect the NHS. Thank you to those who are abiding and let this act as a warning to those who aren't."
