Did you witness collision on A465 near Burley Gate?

Officers from West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses to a head-on collision on the A465 Hereford to Bromyard Road that happened just before 2.15pm yesterday.

The incident involved a silver Volkswagen Golf travelling eastbound towards Burley Gate and a silver Toyota Yaris travelling westbound towards Hereford.

A man in his 30s, who was driving the Golf, was taken to hospital in Hereford and later released with what were reported to be minor injuries.

The driver of the Yaris, also a man in his 30s, remains at hospital in Birmingham with what have been described as potentially life changing injuries.

A closure on the road was in place until around 8.25pm while the vehicles and debris were cleared from the area.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anybody that saw the manner in which the vehicles were being driven beforehand.
