Council to hold dementia engagement events

Monmouthshire County Council is to hold a series of events to receive feedback that will inform and change the way it provides services for people living with dementia.

The Have Your Say on Dementia Day events are intended to gather information about the experiences of people with dementia, their carers, friends, families and the experiences of people working in the field. 

Members of the public and professionals will be welcome to attend and an emphasis will be placed on creating new and innovative projects.

The events will be held as follows:

·         Wednesday 16th January: Bulwark Community Centre, Chepstow - 10am to 12noon
·         Tuesday 22nd January: Caldicot Town Offices, Caldicot, - 2pm to 4pm
·         Wednesday 23rd January: Bridges Centre, Monmouth - 10am to 12noon
·         Wednesday 13th February: Maryport Centre, Usk - 10am to 12noon

Councillor Penny Jones, Monmouthshire’s cabinet member for social care, safeguarding and health said: “The Have Your Say on Dementia Day events aim to be fun and interactive occasions allowing a wide range of people to express their thoughts and opinions.  We look forward to people helping us shape the future of our services to people living with dementia.”
