County planners have given the go-ahead to build a new home off Kings Acre Road in Hereford.

The proposals for a new four-bed home with a double garage on land next to Galen House were debated by Herefordshire Council’s planning and regulatory committee today.

It was referred to the committee due to a councillor’s declared interest.

Breinton Parish Council had objected to the scheme along with nine local residents who raised concerns over road safety, the existing sewage system and the width of the access track.

While one resident wrote in favour of the plans.

Nicola Coombs, an objector, raised concerns over the width of the track and the risk more vehicles pose to pedestrians.

She called on the council to adopt the road and maintain it to an acceptable standard.

The committee approved the planning application by 12 votes in favour and one abstention.
