Chance to have say on planning community health and care services in Herefordshire

People in Herefordshire are being asked to help shape community health and care services in their areas.

Local NHS bosses are very pleased with the response to the engagement events they have been holding over the last month and are hoping to hear from even more local people online, as they seek to gather information about usage of GP and community services through a new online survey launched this week.

Herefordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has been collecting feedback about local people’s experiences with primary and community care services, so that they are able to design future services that are tailored to what matters most for patients in their community.

Through July and early August the CCG held a series of public events and have been thrilled with the turnout, with more events now being planned for September and October.

For those that aren’t able to attend a session in person the CCG has also now launched an online survey.

Dr Ian Tait, GP and Chair of NHS Herefordshire CCG, said: “Our call for residents to tell us about their experiences of community health and GP services has so far been met with a superb response.

“We are really keen that this enthusiasm continues and people keep coming to our events, which are taking place across the county, but for those who can’t or prefer to feedback online we’re pleased to be able to offer another way for people to get in touch.

We are not presenting any plans or models, we just want to find out more about how our patients are using our services and what they want them to look like in the future.”

Results from the public sessions and the online survey will be used to inform CCG proposals for the future model of community provision and any subsequent consultation relating to these proposals.
