Applications open to become a Fire Service Community Volunteer

Applications have opened to become a Fire Service Community Volunteer in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

The varied role involves supporting a diverse range of exciting opportunities including key education campaigns aimed at making young people safer whilst supporting community events and Fire Station Open Days, and visiting people in the community to help raise awareness of reducing the risk of fire within the home.

Our Volunteers also play a key part in supporting our operational training, often acting as 'casualties' in training scenarios, helping to ensure we are delivering the best all round service to the communities of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Applications for this rewarding role opened on Monday 8 January 2018 and will close on Friday 2 February 2018. If you want to talk to someone about becoming a Community Volunteer before you apply please call 0800 032 1155 or email: volunteer@hwfire.org.uk.

Senior Community Risk Technician, Caroline Webster said: "Becoming a Community Volunteer is an enjoyable, worthwhile experience; it can enhance your CV and you can learn new skills."

She continued: "Our Community Volunteers also provides much needed support and help to educate the people of Hereford and Worcester in how to keep themselves, family and friends safe."
