Appeal for information after woman sexually assaulted in Hereford

Police in Hereford are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in the city yesterday.

A woman in her 20s was walking along St Martin's Street towards the river at around 7pm when the suspect approached and inappropriately touched her.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, around 5ft 4ins tall and of average build. He had short brown or red hair and short stubble on his face. He was wearing a dark long-sleeved top and had pink stretchers or earrings in both ears.

Inspector Darren Godsall said: "We take incidents of this nature very seriously and a robust investigation is underway. I would urge anyone who saw this incident or a man matching this description in the area at the time to please contact police or Crimestoppers."
