West Mercia Police is appealing for witnesses after the attempted theft of an ATM on Ledbury Road in Hereford.

Officers were called at around 3.45am today (Monday 21 May) to reports of three men in balaclavas using what's believed to be an angle grinder to try and cut the machine at the Texaco garage.

They then left the scene. Nothing was stolen.

Inspector Daniel Pilkington said: "We are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. We are particularly urging the public to report any sightings of a dark blue or black Audi S7 or A4 which may have substantial front end damage. There will a visible police presence in the area over the coming days to reassure the community as we continue our investigation."

Anyone with any information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 53 of 21/05/2018 or call Crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
