Assembly Member for Monmouth, Nick Ramsay, has written to Royal Mail to support a campaign for a replacement post box for residents of Fforest Coalpit.

Nick has been contacted by constituents and Crucorney Community Council who wrote to Royal Mail a year ago but are becoming extremely frustrated at the time it is taking to receive any response to their request.

Speaking today Nick said: “I feel it’s only right that residents should have their post box in Fforest Coalpit replaced following the closure of the local post office some time ago and the removal of their local post box.

“Constituents now have to drive some distance to their nearest post box and have suggested that a replacement box is installed at Five Ways Crossroads. This could be emptied on the existing route to Blaen y Cwm and would not take the post person out of his or her way.

“ I hope Royal Mail will agree to this request which seems very reasonable to me and would make life much easier for constituents living in this rural area.”
