The county’s football association wants to install an all-weather artificial pitch at its ground in Hereford.
Herefordshire County FA representatives have submitted plans to Herefordshire Council develop an external 3G artificial turf pitch with fencing and a storage container next to the Ted Powell Building at The County Ground.
The proposals will accommodate an 11-a-side football pitch and a variety of youth and mini soccer pitches along with training areas.
The pitch would be available for use from 8am to 10pm seven days a week.
The ground could also be used up to 10 times between 10pm and 11pm every year providing the council is notified 48 hours beforehand.
Residents have until October 4 to comment on these plans and council officers are expected to determine them by October 5.
County FA bosses withdrew plans to install an artificial sports pitch at Aylestone School in May.
That scheme had the backing of Hereford Football Club and was seen by many sports clubs as a solution to the city’s need for more all-weather pitches.
But those proposals received more than 100 objections from residents who feared the development would cause ‘unbearable’ noise and light pollution from floodlights while increasing traffic congestion along the lane.
The county FA has not responded to requests to comment on the latest proposals.
