Developers want to build 26 affordable homes in a village north of Leominster.

S J Roberts Construction have submitted plans to Herefordshire Council to develop land at Tenbury Road in Brimfield.

The proposals include 16 affordable shared ownership homes and 10 affordable houses to rent.

Historically, the site was a traditional orchard but consultants working on the scheme say little remains of it and the fauna that would usually be found in one.

The consultants say the homes would be designed to reflect the character of the local area.

And they also say the proposals are in line with the Brimfield and Little Hereford group neighbourhood plan.

“Roof colours within the village are either grey or russet colours so these have been the choices used across the proposal,” the design and access statement reads.

“Red brick and white render are the dominant wall finishes within Brimfield, which are included across our range of proposed dwellings.

“A variety of white, grey and pastel blues and greens. The proposal includes grey or white windows, depending on the plot, with the pastel blues and green incorporated within the door colours.”

People have until January 20 to comment on the proposals.

Herefordshire Council planners are expected to consider the scheme by March 15.
