Local beef and sheep farmer Kate Beavan from Abergavenny has starred in a video as part of NFU Cymru’s ‘Farming – Bringing Wales Together’ report.

The report and accompanying video highlights the significant role agriculture plays for Wales’ economic, environmental, cultural and social well-being, and was launched at the Senedd on Tuesday, May 23 at an NFU Cymru Welsh Food & Farming celebratory event, which was sponsored by Simon Thomas AM.

In the video Kate promotes ‘A Prosperous Wales’, one of the seven points of the Well-being of Future Generations Act 2015.

Kate said: “This project is one that I was honoured to be a part of. Now more than ever we need to promote farming in a positive light and show the wider community that the agricultural industry does more for the country than they probably realise.

“The Farming – Bringing Wales Together report is the perfect opportunity to show just what Welsh farmers do for the economy, environment, society and culture, paving the way for the future generations,, whether they be farmers or doctors or greengrocers – farming affects everyone and now more than ever we need to prove ourselves.”

The ‘Farming – Bringing Wales Together’ report and accompanying video can be found at www.nfu-cymru.org.uk. The video is also available through NFU Cymru’s Facebook and Twitter channels.
