Police in the Cotswolds are asking the residents of Stow to please be alert as reports have been received about cold callers in the area.

It was reported earlier today that a man in his 50's was pressure selling driveway weed killing services to those living in the Back Walls area.

The man asked homeowners if they wanted a free trial on a small area and when this is accepted he went ahead and did the entire driveway before demanding £1000.

The man then started to pressurise residents into paying and only left once we were called.

He was described as being in his 60s, short, of a stocky build, was wearing wellington boots and arrived in a small white van

If someone cold calls at your door and you did not invite them then please don't answer the door and direct the caller to leave, do not engage with them and do not accept any trial services.

Anyone who has been targeted today and hasn't already reported what happened is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 126 of 5 May.
