Firefighters have left the scene of a warehouse fire in Longhope.

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the former Richard Read transport depot at just after 9pm.

A spokesperson said:  “Six crews were in attendance from Cinderford, Gloucester North, Cheltenham, Gloucester South and Newent.

“Residents nearby who could be affected are urged to keep their windows closed due to smoke in the air.”

“The fire was out at 1.22am and crews left the scene shortly after 6am this morning.”

The A4136 was closed between Huntley and Mitcheldean during the incident but has since re-opened.
