Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision between a cyclist and a vehicle which took place last week.

Officers were called with a report that a cyclist had been knocked off his bicycle whilst cycling along the A38 in Newport, Berkeley. He stated that this took place between 7.35pm and 7.45pm on Thursday (27 May) and that the vehicle did not stop.

The cyclist was travelling south on the A38 and as the vehicle passed it struck the cyclist with the wing mirror causing him to crash. He sustained various injuries and his bicycle was badly damaged.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene but the wing mirror detached on impact with the cyclist and has been recovered.

The colour of the vehicle is unknown but it would have been missing a black nearside wing mirror and its attachment immediately after the collision took place. It may still be missing the wing mirror and attachment now.

Investigating officers are now appealing for witnesses to the collision as well as dash cam footage.
