A popular Hereford cut-through has been blocked off today for three days.
Running from the foot of the A49 Ross Road to Holme Lacy Road in the southeast of the city, Hinton Road closed this morning (July 8) and will remain so until July 10 for water-related works.
Signs blocking the road have been erected at the Hereford Welsh Social Club to the west and at the mini-roundabout with Hinton Crescent to the east.
These say that Morrison Water Services is carrying out network maintenance for Welsh Water. However as of 11am today no works were actually under way on the road.
For drivers it is a popular shortcut between the city centre and the Rotherwas enterprise zone, particularly during ongoing roadworks in Ross Road which continue to cause tailbacks, as far as the Hinton Road entrance and the “Asda” roundabout at times.
