The Feathers Hotel in Ludlow has completed the second phase of its refurbishment which sees the opening of its brand new restaurant, Plume@Feathers.

New owners Crest Hotels, marked the occasion with a VIP event of over 50 local suppliers, customers and dignitaries before the doors officially opened to customers on Friday, 18th October for its first weekend of full service. The restaurant was officially opened with a ribbon cutting by the Mayor, Cllr Tim Gill and Mayoress, Mary Gill.

Group Operations Director, Jason Hiley said: “It was a fantastic turnout to the official opening of the restaurant with guests enjoying entertainment and a gourmet, seven course meal.  It was great to see so many people coming to celebrate with us, which really shows how much local support we have for the work we are doing to re-open the Feathers Hotel.

“The official opening of the restaurant marks a key stage in the progress of the circa £2million refurbishment and our aim is to establish the Feathers as a dining destination for the whole region. We have an incredible catering team and head chef in place, so are now focused on achieving our two AA Rosette’s within the next six months.”

Guests were welcomed to the hotel with a bag piper before being entertained with a harpist as canapés were served and a pianist during the 7 course banquet.  Throughout the evening, each course was paired with a specific wine with explanation given by host Sommelier from Marstons’ Brewery, Raj Solanki.

Crest Hotels completed the purchase of The Feathers in December, 2018. The firm is now investing more than £1.5million to re-position the 40-bedroom property, which includes an aesthetic makeover to public areas, rooms and the function suite, as well as completely new plumbing throughout.
