A Monmouthshire man has been banned from driving for four years.
54-year-old Mark Jones from Abergavenny was stopped by police on the A465 on September 9th.
Appearing at Newport Magistrates' Court, the defendant pleaded guilty to having 105 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
South Wales Argus reports Jones was sentenced to a 12-month community order and must complete a six-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £95 surcharge.
