The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre is the perfect place to start your exploration of the Shropshire Hills.
The Centre’s Shropshire Hills Through Time exhibition explores the local area through the years, starting at the Ice Age with the life-sized replica mammoth skeleton. The awe-inspiring drone footage film over the hills will whet the appetite of explorers of all ages to head out to see the stunning views for themselves.
Discover the range of gifts, cards, books, homeware, locally crafted items and local food products available in the gift shop.
Visit the cafe where you can enjoy home cooked, locally sourced dishes. Whether it’s hot meals, freshly prepared sandwiches, cakes, desserts or an ice cream that you’re after, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. A trip here after a wander around the 30 acres of free-to-use Onny Meadows, with wild play areas and riverside paths, can round off a day out just perfectly.
With a jam-packed events programme, the Centre is a hub of activity all year round. From family activities throughout school holidays, Flicks in the Sticks Films, walks, talks and adult courses, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre is run by local charity, Grow Cook Learn, who are committed to connecting people to the food, history and landscape of the Shropshire Hills.
