A West Mercia Police officer accused of being a bully is to face a misconduct hearing.
The unnamed officer (named as Officer A) is alleged to have behaved in an “abusive, hostile, oppressive, derogatory, intimidating and/or bullying manner” towards their colleague between March and April 2024.
It is also alleged, that in May 2024, the officer’s inspector told them they were comfortable with them working in a small team whom the officer had started a romantic relationship with, so would be moved stations.
It is alleged that Officer A sought to influence their inspector’s decision to move them to a different team by making a number of statements which were untrue relating to the officer’s service in the military.
West Mercia Police have confirmed that the officer is from Shropshire.
A gross misconduct hearing will take place next week at West Mercia Police’s headquarters in Hindlip, Worcestershire.
Chaired by Deputy Chief Constable Damian Barratt, the five-day hearing (October 12 to 16) will determine whether Officer A breached authority, respect and courtesy, honesty and integrity, and discreditable conduct.
