A cordon remains in place after an unexploded grenade was handed into Hereford Police Station earlier.
West Mercia Police confirmed the station on Bath Road is closed as a precaution.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal were called to the scene and are assessing the device and ensure it is disposed of safely. They have since left the incident.
A cordon has been put in place around the station and is likely to remain in place for some time.
There is not believed to be any risk to the wider area or the community.
