Images released following Tesco burglary in Worcester

Detectives investigating a burglary at a Tesco petrol station have released images of three suspects and continue to appeal for information from the public.

At around 2.10am on Monday (19 October), three suspects wearing dark clothing forced entry into Tesco petrol station on Mill Wood Drive in Worcester.

It is believed one of the suspects used an angle grinder to cut through a metal security shutter protecting the front entrance, while another used a fire extinguisher to smash a lower panel of the door.

The three suspects then entered the store and used an angle grinder to cut open cash boxes before leaving the area with them.

One of the images released shows a suspect carrying the angle grinder used during the burglary which we now believe was taken as the suspects left the area.

The suspects are believed to have left the store on foot, crossing a small fence onto Vetch Field Avenue before making their way to Mill Wood Drive, where they rode off on electric bikes or electric motorbikes.

We are aware the bikes travelled along Mill Wood Drive shortly after the burglary.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Todd said: "We're releasing these images in the hope that they jog someone's memory about what they saw in the area during the early hours of Monday morning.

"We appreciate the suspects' faces are not visible and that they are unlikely to be identifiable from the images alone. However, the photographs show a number of distinctive features, including an angle grinder being carried from the scene, as well as the clothing worn by the suspects.

"We're keen to hear from anyone who may have seen these people before or after the burglary. I'd particularly ask anyone with dashcam footage, CCTV, doorbell footage or other security camera recordings from the Mill Wood Drive and Vetch Field Avenue areas to check them carefully. These images give people something specific to look out for, and even footage that appears insignificant could help us piece together the suspects' movements before and after the burglary.

"Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could prove vital to our enquiries and I would urge anyone who thinks they can help to get in touch."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Andrew Todd by emailing andrew.todd@westmercia.police.uk
