Appeal for witnesses to assault in Gloucester

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Gloucester yesterday.

Officers were called to Barton Street after it was reported that a man had been assaulted at around 5pm. He stated that he had been hit on the back of the head after an altercation between a group of people.

Two men, aged 25 and 32, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with the incident and have since been released on bail.

The victim also stated that he had been assaulted on Monday evening and that this took place between Conduit and Hanman Road at around 8.30pm. This incident was not reported to police at the time.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed either of the incidents taking place or has dashcam footage.
