Organisers of Tenbury Applefest have announced the cancellation of this year’s festival, which was due to take place on Saturday.

In a statement, the Applefest committee said it had taken the “regrettable” decision after forecasts predicted heavy rain and extreme winds from Friday afternoon through to Saturday.

The committee said it would have been “irresponsible and unproductive” to go ahead under such conditions, adding the call was made at the latest possible time to give fair notice to contractors, suppliers and participants.

While the main event has been cancelled, the annual window dressing competition will still take place, with judging carried out by Kerry’s.

Organisers thanked supporters for their continued interest and said they shared in the disappointment, but confirmed plans to return on October 3, 2026.

They have also asked residents and businesses displaying posters to mark them as cancelled or take them down.
