No Christmas Light Switch On for Leominster

A Christmas Light Switch On ceremony will not be held in Leominster this year.

In a statement, Leominster Town Council said: "Following concerns about rising cases of COVID-19, Leominster Town Council have made the difficult decision not to hold the Christmas Light Switch-On event planned for 27^th November."

"As space in Corn Square is very restricted, the well-attended Christmas Light Switch-On presents more of a risk than other planned events. The lights will still be on each evening from 27^th November until the 6^th January."

No switch on event was held last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The council did confirm the Victorian Street Market will go ahead on 11th December.
