A North Herefordshire town is to get a new “passionately authentic” Italian restaurant and wine bar.
Il Vigneto (Italian for “vineyard”) will be in the former Lamonby Flooring premises at 45 West Street, Leominster.
Owner and executive chef Michele Toniolo said “the last 10 per cent” of refurbishments to the building will be completed shortly. But first he must gain a licence from Herefordshire Council.
“The premises is going to be an authentic Italian restaurant serving Italian dishes and wines,” his application says. With seating upstairs and down, it will accommodate up to 50 people.
It seeks permission for live music on Fridays and Saturdays between 7pm and 9pm, as well as the sale of alcohol along with food between 12.30pm and 10.30pm Tuesday to Thursday, and between 1pm and 11pm Friday to Sunday. It will be closed on Mondays.
“Depending on booked group parties in the future, there may be some adult entertainment,” the application adds.
The restaurant already has a website at il-vigneto.co.uk , and a Facebook page.
Consultation on the licensing application ends on November 26.
The premises has previously also been home to the One Stop print shop and Minster Windows.
