A Monmouth man is starting a three-year sentence for a robbery in the town.
20-year-old Finn Church pleaded guilty to robbery and threatening a person with a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place.
The crime happened at the One Stop Shop, on Monnow Street, in July.
He was sentenced to three years in a young offenders institute at Newport Crown Court on 30 September.
Police investigator Rachel Hine said:
“This was a serious violent offence, which will have a lasting impact on the victim and the wider community.
“Knife crime is not tolerated, and we hope this sentence is a deterrent to those who may consider carrying knives in the future.”
