A mountain biker was taken to hospital after suffering multiple injuries following a fall on the Sugar Loaf.
Longtown Mountain Rescue and the Welsh Ambulance Service were called to the incident yesterday afternoon.
A group of Duke of Edinburgh Award students came across the casualty who had fallen from his bike. The group called the emergency services and provided shelter for the biker.
The 46-year-old man was treated by a team doctor before being stretchered from the hill and taken to hospital by land ambulance.
