Monmouthshire County Council has approved funding for the Chepstow Integrated Transport Levelling Up Fund project.
The £7.4 million scheme will improve access to Chepstow Station with better bus, walking, and cycling routes, plus new amenities including public toilets.
The council has pledged over £1.4 million in match funding.
Deputy leader Paul Griffiths says the project marks a major milestone for the town’s future transport plans.
