A series of free Family Volunteering Club are taking place in Abergavenny, this summer.
Family Volunteering Club makes it easy for children aged and their grown-ups to help out at important causes on their doorstep – helping create a society in which every child grows up feeling connected to their local community and understands the positive role they can play in helping change issues that matter to them.
Sessions taking place in Abergavenny include:
- Saturday 13th July, 12 – 1.30pm, Bailey Park: Family friendly event volunteering at IYE Festival. Help out on stalls and activities, from giant board games to enormous bubbles.
- Friday 19th July and Friday 26th July, 12.30pm – 2pm, Melville Centre for the Arts: A Big Backstage Sort Out. A fun-filled morning helping the Melville Centre for the Arts organise their backstage costume room.
- Saturday 20th July, 2pm – 3.30pm, Gilwern Playing Fields: Get ready for festival fun. Roll up your sleeves and get ready for an exciting afternoon as we help Gilwern Roots get ready for their fantastic Gilfest festival, which will take place the following day.
There is a rich tradition of volunteering activity in Abergavenny and Family Volunteering Club will further enhance this, offering families the opportunity to volunteer together, have fun and make even more of a difference in their community.
Sessions are free to attend but places are limited, so must be booked in advance. To find out more about Family Volunteering Club, or to book your place at one of the events in Abergavenny, head to familyvolunteeringclub.co.uk/abergavenny
