A body has been found in the search for a missing woman from Mardy.
Emergency services were called to Llanfoist Bridge at around 7:40am this morning.
The deceased has been named as 82-year-old Anwen Elliott, from Mardy, near Abergavenny.
A spokesman for Gwent Police said: “We attended along with other emergency responders and can sadly confirm that a deceased female was found at the scene.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious. Mrs Elliot’s next of kin have been informed.
