A prop gravestone belonging to Ebenezer Scrooge has been destroyed.
It featured in the 1984 film version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and had been a popular tourist attraction at St Chad's Church church in Shrewsbury ever since.
Police say the headstone was smashed into at least two pieces and overturned "within the last three days".
