Tenants urged to complete survey to help better shape services for the future

Council house tenants in Shropshire are being urged to complete a survey which has been issued last week by Shropshire Council.

The survey asks residents their views on the proposal that the council awards its housing management organisation Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing (STAR Housing) a further 10-year contract to continue the management of its housing stock.

Tenants will also be asked for their opinions on the services they receive from STAR Housing to help better shape services in the future.

STAR Housing has been managing Shropshire Council’s housing on behalf of the council for nearly 10 years. Following the outcome of a review undertaken by consultants Campbell Tickell, the council now proposes that STAR Housing is awarded a further 10-year contract to continue to manage the council’s social housing from April 2023.

The proposed 10-year contract will continue existing arrangements, meaning that tenants should not experience any disruption to the services they currently receive.

Jane Trethewey, Shropshire Council’s assistant director for homes and communities, said: “Tenants’ views and opinions on our services really matter to us and will help better shape our services for the future.

“The survey was posted out last week to over 4,000 council tenants. If you have received it, please do complete it and return in the pre-paid envelope provided.]

The closing date for the survey is Friday 23 September 2022.
