Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses to an early morning assault in Hereford.
It happened in Bishops Meadow at around 3.20am on Sunday.
A man in his 40s was walking along the path that leads to Hinton Road when he is reported to have been assaulted by a group of men who were walking onto the park through the gates.
The victim suffered head injuries and chest injuries and was helped by a member of the public before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
*A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident has been bailed until 22 April while investigations continue.
Enquiries are ongoing but officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area, who witnessed the incident or who saw anyone acting suspiciously at the time.
