New homes provider Bromford has donated 60 boxes of facial tissues to leading cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better, to be used in the charity’s beauty workshops.

Look Good Feel Better runs workshops and classes virtually and at cancer care centres and hospitals throughout the UK to support women, men and young adults who are managing the physical and emotional side-effects of cancer treatment.

The workshops are led by trained volunteers in the beauty industry and provide practical advice about changes to skin during treatment, eyebrows, eyelashes, hair, nails and body confidence. Volunteers in the health industry also lead wellbeing-focused classes covering meditation, breathwork and gentle exercise to help reduce feelings of isolation and anxiety.

Each session offers attendees an invaluable opportunity to meet others going through a similar situation. To date, the charity has supported over 197,000 people living with cancer.

The donation came about as Bromford donned pink safety gear for Breast Cancer Awareness Month last October to raise awareness of cancer charities, and wanted to take their support a step further.

Dulcie Rowe, Head of Programme Services at Look Good Feel Better, said: “We would like to thank Bromford for their generous donation of 60 boxes of special facial tissues. In our face-to-face sessions we always use cotton buds, cotton wool pads and tissues, so a donation of this kind is extremely helpful to help us to be able to continue to support people at a very challenging time in their lives and make a real difference to how they feel.

“We always appreciate companies reaching out to help us in our efforts.”

Catherine Jarrett, Director of Sales and Marketing at Bromford, said: “We are delighted to have made this donation to Look Good Feel Better. The workshops ran by the charity are hugely impactful to people living with cancer, helping them to find support and socialise.

“At Bromford, we put people and communities at the heart of all we do. Cancer is sadly something that has affected the majority of us, so it was a no-brainer to support such a wonderful charity. We wish Look Good Feel Better and those who attend its workshops all the best.”
