Police appeal for witnesses to serious collision on A49

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision that occurred on Wednesday in roadworks on the A49 Moreton on Lugg to Hereford road near Marsh House Farm.

The collision involved a DAF Truck that was travelling north when it came across temporary traffic lights. He was overtaken by a red Seat. A yellow Honda Jazz was travelling in the opposite direction through the roadworks when all three vehicles were involved in a collision.

The two occupants of the Honda, both in their 70's were injured when their car rolled and were taken to Hereford County A&E for assessment of their injuries and treatment. The female passenger is believed to have suffered injuries to her liver and chest. The male driver is believed to have suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours to allow emergency services to attend the scene and for the Honda and Seat to be recovered.
