Police are appealing for witnesses to what is believed to be an unprovoked assault on a female in Lawnside Road, Ledbury at around 2pm on Tuesday.
The assault is believed to have occurred when the woman was pushed to the floor from behind and punched and kicked by a male who said 'he wanted the money'. He then ran off.
Nothing was stolen. However the woman suffered a number of injuries to her face and body as a result of the assault and was taken by ambulance to Hereford Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
The offender is described as a white male wearing dark jeans and a dark hoodie.
Police are checking CCTV and carrying out house to house enquiries, and asking any witnesses to please contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident 0357s of 111218.
