Hereford’s Beefy Boys restaurant plans to give a more permanent feel to its outdoor eating and drinking space, after the recent opening of an adjoining bar at the weekend.
A new planning application from the venue, in the city’s Old Market, proposes new permanent fabric covers on aluminium frames to replace the current “ad-hoc mish-mash of temporary canopies”, it says.
Restaurants and bars were encouraged to use outdoor spaces to enable safe drinking and dining during the Covid pandemic, and the Beefy Boys has retained this since.
The proposal “will only enhance the contribution that The Beefy Boys make to the strength of the existing (city) centre”, in line with council and government policy, its application says.
Comments on the proposal, numbered 223670, can be made until December 15.
