A person has died following a collision on the M5 near Quedgeley this morning.
Two cars collided between junction 12 and junction 11A northbound at around 8.10am today.
The air ambulance attended but one person was declared dead a short time later.
Officers are currently making contact with their next of kin so further details cannot be released at this time.
The driver of the other vehicle suffered non-serious injuries but is being checked over at hospital.
The northbound carriageway remains closed between junction 12 and junction 11A while a serious collision investigation takes place.
The southbound carriageway is now open.
